About Inbound Fax Message Notifications

You can configure the Upland AccuRoute server to send notification messages in one of the following ways.

The server sends a notification message to the inbound message recipient, and the inbound message is attached to the notification message.
The server sends a notification message to the inbound message recipient, but the inbound message is not attached to the notification message. Instead, the notification message contains a link to the Web Client.

By default, the server sends notification messages to inbound message recipients with the inbound message attached. You can configure the server to send notification messages to inbound message recipients with a link to the Web Client. This involves two steps.

Modify the inbound routing rules so that the notification message does not include the message as an attachment.
Excluding attachment
You can exclude attachments from inbound messages by using the Server Administrator > Rules node.

To exclude an attachment
1. Start the Server Administrator.
  On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.
2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.
3. Expand Rules. Click Inbound. The inbound rules are listed in the details pane.
4. Double-click the rule you want to modify. (Choose the rule criteria associated with the connector that delivers notification messages to inbound message recipients. For example, in an Exchange environment, the criteria is the one that routes items to the Exchange connector for delivery to Exchange users.) The Specify the criteria for this rule dialog box appears.
5. Click Next. The Specify actions to take for this rule dialog box appears.
6. Select the action that routes items to the appropriate connector. (The connector delivers the notification message to the inbound message recipients.)
7. Click Properties. The Route to Connector dialog box appears.
8. Clear the Include Attachmentcheck box.
9. Click Finish, then Next. The If an action(s) fail do the following dialog box appears.
10. Click Next. The Specify a name for this rule dialog box appears.
11. Click Finish.
Modify the message template to add a link to the Web Client
Adding Web Client link
You can add a Web Client link to inbound notification messages by using the OMNotification - Incoming template.

To add a Web Client link to inbound notification messages
1. Navigate to the following directory on the server.
  ...\Program Files\Upland AccuRoute\Upland AccuRoute server\Languages\ENU\Templates
2. Make a copy of the OMNotification-Incoming.OMTPL file and keep it as a backup.
3. Open the file using WordPad.
4. Modify the file as necessary. You can add instructions for the inbound message recipient as well.
  
  Here is an example of how you can edit the template.
  
  You have received a fax from %TSI% on %DATE_SUBMITTED% at %TIME_SUBMITTED%. You can view the fax in the Web Client.
  
  Click the following link or copy and paste the URL into the Address bar of your web browser.
  
  <leave a space here for the link to the Web Client>
  
  JobID: %WEBJOB_ID%
5. Now add the link to the Web Client. You can add the link to a received message or view a user's Inbox.
  - To link directly to the received message, type:
    http://[server]/[website]/openattachment.aspx?type=view&jobid=%WEBJOB_ID%
    where [server] is the name of the system where the Web Client is installed and [website] is the virtual directory of the web site. The default name for [website] is Upland AccuRouteArWeb. For example, if [server] is Upland AccuRoute serv and [website] is Upland AccuRoute ArWeb, the URL is:
    http://Upland AccuRouteserv/Upland AccuRouteArWeb/openattachment.aspx?type=view&jobid=%WEBJOB_ID%
  - To link to view the user's Inbox:
    http://[server]/[website]/Upland AccuRoute aspx?tab=messages&folder=inbox
    For example, if your base Web Client URL is //server/Upland AccuRouteArWeb/, the link to the Inbox is:
    http://server/Upland AccuRouteArWeb/statusgenifax.aspx?tab=received
6. Save the file and verify that it has the *.omptl extension.
