Adding a XeroxScan Connector Repository

The repository is the shared directory where the Xerox MFD sends scanned documents and the XeroxScan connector on the server collects these documents.

To add a XeroxScan connector repository

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

  4. Double-click the XeroxScan connector to open the Properties dialog box.

  5. Click Folders.

  6. Click New. The Device Properties dialog box appears.

  7. In the Description box, type a descriptive name.

  8. In the Scan to Folder box, type the path to the repository. You can also browse to the repository. You must create the repository before you perform this procedure. The XeroxScan connector cannot create a repository.

  9. Click Override Defaults.

  10. Select Override Destination. Select a format from the drop-down list if your environment uses network scanning templates with the XeroxScan connector.

Note: If your company has an Upland AccuRoute server and users scan documents with routing sheets, skip this step.

  11. In the Address box, type a value (usually a fax number) that you wish to use as the default destination.

  12. Select Override Originator.

  13. In the E-mail box, type the email address.

  14. Select Always use this e-mail address or Use e-mail of logged in user if available. If you select Use e-mail of logged in user if available, you can configure an LDAP lookup.

  15. To configure LDAP lookup, click Configure. The Originator Lookup dialog box appears.

    • In the Server name box, type the name of the system running the server, or its IP address.

    • In the Port box, type the port number. Standard port numbers are 389 (LDAP), 636 (secure LDAP), and 3268 (Active Directory).

    • In the Username box, type the user name associated with the lookup account.

    • In the Password box, type the password for the user, type the lookup server in the Server box, the port number in the Port box, user name in the Username box, and password in the Password box. Click OK to save the information.

  16. Select Override Coverpage .

  17. Select Add system-generated coverpage to scanned image and select a cover page from the drop-down list.

Note: The cover page must exist in the \\Upland AccuRoute\Upland AccuRouteServer\Languages\ENU\Templates directory.

  18. Select Override Confirmation, and select Neverto never receive a confirmation, selectFailureto only receive a confirmation when a message fails, orSuccess or failureto always receive a confirmation. If you selectSuccess or failure, select eitherSend to originator's e-mailorPrint on source device.

  19. Click OK twice to save your changes.

Deleting a XeroxScan connector repository

You can delete a repository by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To delete a repository

  1. Double-click the XeroxScan connector to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Click Folders. All the repositories in the environment are listed in the dialog box.

  3. Select the repository you want to delete, and click Delete.

  4. Click Yes to delete the folder. The XeroxScan connector stops collecting scanned documents from the repository you deleted.

Note: Important! Network scanners might be configured to copy scanned documents to the scan repository you deleted. In this instance, you must modify the scanner configuration—either in the network scanning template or in the Network Fax configuration on the network scanner—so that the network scanner copies scanned documents to a valid scan repository in the list. For more information on modifying the network scanner configuration, refer to the documentation on your network scanner.
