Modify a Skill

The Skills feature enables managers to define the specific qualifications and expertise required to complete tasks within a project. By creating and assigning skills, managers can more effectively match resources to project needs, improving accuracy in workforce planning and enhancing overall project delivery. This capability supports optimal use of the Resource Management module by ensuring that the right people with the right skills are assigned to the right tasks.

This article details the process for modifying a Skill.

  1. From the Icon Bar click Setup .
  2. From the Navigation Menu click Workforce Planning to expand the corresponding menu.
  3. From the available menu items, click Skills.
  4. Upon the Skills list page displaying, click the name of the required skill to access the Skill Edit dialog box.
  5. Make the required modification(s) to these settings:
    1. Name, Id and Description.
    2. If required select a different Parent under which the Skill is to be displayed.
    3. If the Skill is a placeholder, or needs to be suspended, select the appropriate Is a Placeholder or Suspend boxes.
  6. Click Save to apply your changes.

    Tip: Alternatively you can click Save & New which will result in saving your changes allowing you to immediately create another Skill.

  7. Click Back to return to the previous page.
