About Connectors

Connectors are used to manage how messages flow in and out of the Upland AccuRoute Server. With a connector, the server can communicate with external messaging systems. Based on your company's configuration, it can either accept, deliver, or accept and deliver a message. All connectors are managed by the Connector Manager (a Windows server service) which engages connectors as needed and transfers messages between the server and other systems.

The server delivers documents to the following recipient types through its connectors.

  • A Database Management System (DMS) like Microsoft SharePoint
  • A Network or Cloud Storage Folder
  • The WebApps User Interface (UI)
  • Email
  • Fax
  • Network Printer

More about connectors

The server can also store a document and its metadata captured from users or extracted from the document as part of its processing. Documents and metadata can be stored in SQL databases or saved in XML format and stored on network or cloud storage folders. Database or XML output from the server supports integration with most archive, content management, workflow, and other information systems. This allows the server to be used as the platform for all distributed document capture and routing requirements.

In addition, the Connector Manager becomes instrumental as new information systems and extensions are made available as upgrade options.
