Adding a Telco Connector

If the modem server is local, the new connector wizard can detect the fax board channels automatically. If the modem server is remote, you must detect the fax board channels. For instructions, see Detecting fax board channels on a remote modem server.

The following procedure provides you with all the steps you need to add a local or remote modem server on the server.

Start the Server Administrator
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.
On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.
Right-click Connectors. Select New Upland AccuRoute Server connector > Telco. The Server Address dialog box appears.
The Run on the Message Server option is selected by default. If the modem server is local, click Next.

Alternately, if the modem server is remote, click Remote Server and enter the server name. Click Next.
The system verifies that the product is installed and the Display Name dialog box appears. In the Name box, enter a descriptive name for the connector.
Click Next. The Telco Device Detection dialog box appears.
Click Next. The Telco Default Settings dialog box appears.
In the CSI box, enter the identity of your company. In the Dial Prefix box, enter the dial prefix if your company uses one.

Note: The modem strips any spaces or additional characters from the value you enter in the CSI box. If you are using an inbound routing rule based on CSI or TSI, the criteria you enter for CSI or TSI must also be stripped of all spaces or additional characters, otherwise the rule will not work.

The CSI value you provide will be applied to all fax board channels as the identity of your company for inbound and outbound faxes. (Your company's identity is called the CSI, or called subscriber identification, for inbound faxes and the TSI, or transmitting station identifier, for outbound faxes.) You can customize these values for individual fax board channels after you complete the new connector wizard by modifying the properties of each fax board channel.

Click Next. The Area Code dialog box appears.
In the Area Code box, enter the area code. Click Next. The Congratulations dialog box appears.
Click Finish. The Telco connector is listed in the details pane.
