Configuring a Language Property and Prompt

To configure a language property

1. Start the Server Administrator.

   On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree and navigate to Configuration.

3. Right-click Properties and select New > Property Dictionary. The Property Dictionary Item dialog box is displayed.

4. On the General tab, type the following text as an example.

Name:  OCRLanguage

Label:  Select Language (this label will appear on the device)

Instructions:  Select the language to increase OCR accuracy of your scanned document.

Type:  Generic List

5. In the Mappings section, click New. Then, select OPath and enter the following path.

\\prComposeOcr\prLanguages(prOCRLanguageName=*)\prOCRLanguageName

6. Click OK to return to the Property Dictionary Item dialog box.

7. Click the Items tab.

8. Click New and type the Value and Internal (optional) for each language.

The following example shows the Simplified Chinese Value and Internal (optional) properties.

9. After you enter the Value and Internal (optional) information, click OK to return to the Items page.

10. Click OK to save changes to the property.

 

To configure a language prompt

1. Go to Configuration > Groups.

2. In the right pane, double-click the Default group. The Group page is displayed.

3. Click the Prompts tab.

4. Select Enable members of this group to Prompt for the following properties.

5. Select the OCRLanguage prompt.

6. Click the Folders tab.

7. Select a folder to which to route for testing purposes. (The file can go anywhere for actual use.)

8. Click OK to close the Group page.

 

You can use your Web Client configuration to create a directive to route documents to a network folder and verify its final format.

To create a directive and verify final format

1. Log on to the Web Client from the public user account.

2. Create a directive from the Web Client that routes to a network folder.

3. Verify that the final format is a OCR.RTF. This will enable you to see that the output is actually what it is supposed to be and not just an image of the scan.

 

You can do a verification at a device by using Public Distributions.

To verify at a device

1. Go to the device.

2. Select Public Distributions.

3. Select the language-prompted directive. For example, select Chinese (Simplified).

4. Scan the document (such as a Simplified Chinese sample document).

5. Verify that the file found in the network folder contains the appropriate text.

6. Repeat this entire procedure (starting with Step 1) for all supported languages.
