Creating Routing Sheet Templates Guidelines

A Routing Sheet template consists of two files: an OMTPL or DOC file that contains the display properties of the Routing Sheet and a WTX file that contains a description of the Routing Sheet.

The title of a Routing Sheet; as it appears in the list menu in AccuRoute Desktop , comes from the description in the WTX file. For example, if your WTX file contains "Routing Sheet - Marketing", then the user will see "Routing Sheet - Marketing" in the list menu.

You can modify the Routing Sheet templates that are installed on the server. You can also create new Routing Sheet templates if necessary. You may for example, want to offer users more options when they select a Routing Sheet style. The Routing Sheet templates associated with the Aserver are available to all users who are connected to that particular server.

Here are some basic guidelines you must follow when you configuring a Routing Sheet template.

  • OMTPL files must be created and edited using WordPad.

  • WTX files must be created and edited using Notepad.

Tip: Upland AccuRoute recommends that you create file associations in Windows for OMTPL files and WTX files so that you don't edit them with the wrong application accidentally.

  • The OMTPL file and the WTX file must have the same filename.
For example, Marketing.OMTPL and Marketing.WTX are valid filenames for the Marketing Routing Sheet template.

  • The Routing Sheet template must contain: OMEDID(%OMEDID%)When the Routing Sheet gets generated, this text is replaced with the embedded directive key used by the server to associate the Routing Sheet with routing instructions.

Note: Do not make any modifications to this line of text. Its default paragraph and font properties produce optimal OCR accuracy. Changes to this line can decrease the OCR accuracy and result in an increased failure rate. If you accidentally modified this line, restore it from the original template file on the installation CD.

  • The line that contains OMEDID(%OMEDID%) should have an empty line above it and an empty line below it. This allows the OCR engine that detects the Embedded Directive to function with the highest accuracy.

  • Store your Routing Sheet template (OMTPL file and WTX file) in: ...\Upland AccuRoute \AccuRoute \Languages\ENU\EmbeddedDirectives folder on the server.

  • You can add static text and variables to Routing Sheet templates. This allows you to use Routing Sheet templates that suit the needs of your company. For a list of variables you can use, click here. If you want to add DMS variables to your Routing Sheet, see List of DMS Routing Sheet variables.

Note: A Routing Sheet can function as a cover page for outbound messages, and AccuRoute Desktop users can choose to include the Routing Sheet with an outbound message. Do not include information on a Routing Sheet that should not be read by someone outside your company.
