User Bulk Actions
Users represent the individuals who have access to Eclipse PPM. Each user can log into the application and interact with it. Their ability to interact with Eclipse PPM is based off of the permissions that they obtain through the Security Policies and User Groups they belong to.
Using bulk actions, administrators can simultaneously update the following details of multiple users:
-
Account Status: Determines whether users have access to Eclipse PPM. Users with an "Inactive" Account Status will not be able to log into the application.
-
Reset avatars: Removes every selected user's avatar. Each user will receive the default avatar that displays their initials.
Note: If you would like to edit any other user details apart from the two above, you will need to edit users individually.
Update user Account Statuses in Bulk
From the Users page, administrators can update the Account Statuses of multiple users at once. They can apply an "Active" or "Inactive" Account Status to every selected user. Users with an "Inactive" Account Status will not be able to log into Eclipse PPM until they receive an "Active" Account Status.
Note: Be sure not to confuse Account Status with Account Type.
Example: An entire team of accountants has been relocated to another department in Piper's company. The team is now part of a department that does not use Eclipse PPM, so none of them require access to the application. Piper wants to restrict their access, but she does not want to delete them from the application in case they return to the department later. To make things easier for herself, she selects each accountant on the Users page and applies an "Inactive" Account Status to them. This prevents her from having to navigate to each user's profile and edit their Account Statuses individually. If they ever return to the department, she can easily select them all again and apply an "Active" Account Status to all of them.

After selecting Save, the changes will be applied to the selected users. A banner will appear at the top of the Users page.
Selecting More info will provide a tally of each successful and failed update.
Note: Reach out to your Eclipse PPM representative if there are any failures.
Reset User Avatars in Bulk
From the Users page, administrators can reset the avatars of multiple users at once. Resetting an avatar essentially means erasing it; the affected users will be left with the default avatar that displays the user's initials.
Note: Eclipse PPM does not save any reset avatars. If a user's avatar is reset, the user will have to reupload it from a device to get it back.
Example: At Piper's company, many Eclipse PPM users have avatars of themselves. However, a memo from the executive team has asked that every Eclipse PPM user temporarily remove their avatars due to security concerns. Instead of asking every user to remove their avatars, Piper can easily reset the avatar of every user through Bulk Actions. She can select the checkbox in the column header to select every listed user on the Users page, and then use Bulk Actions to remove all of their avatars.
To reset user avatars in bulk:
Before You Start: Eclipse PPM users require the "User Administration" permission from an Application Policy to reset user avatars in bulk.
-
Select the Administration icon
from the Navigation Menu:
-
Select Users from the "Security" menu:
-
Select the Bulk Actions button.
-
Select the checkboxes of the users you would like to reset avatars for.
Tip: Selecting the checkbox in the column header will automatically select every user.
Tip: Use the column headers on the Users page to sort and filter users.
-
Open the More Actions menu.
-
Select Reset Avatars...
-
Select the Yes button.
After selecting Yes, the avatars of each selected user will be reset. Their avatars will simply display their initials instead of a picture.
