Set Up WIP Policy at the Project Level

This article details how to set up WIP Policy from Project Edit.

  1. From the Icon Bar click Project List .
  2. Upon the Project List displaying, click the name of the Project you wish to access.
  3. From Project Settings tab, click WIP Policy located on the left menu under Financial to open the WIP Policy page.
  4. The following four fields are read-only:
    1. The Project field is set to the edited project
    2. The Client field is set to an automatic value
    3. The Currency field is set to the associated Client's currency
    4. The Company is set to the company the project belongs to
  5. Select an appropriate option from the Rule Type selection box. For more information on the different Rule Types, refer to WIP Policy Rule Types.

    Note: When a Project has a Revenue Recognition Policy with the Amount to Recognize field set to Fixed amount, a WIP Policy on the Project (Rule Type being changed from None to any other option) cannot be defined. Upon attempting to Save the setting, a message displays that reads the following, and the Rule Type change is not saved, maintaining it as None: "A WIP Policy cannot be defined when a Revenue Recognition Policy with Fixed Amount exists on the Project."

  6. Click Save to apply your changes.
  7. Click Back to return to the previous page.
