About this Tenrox Guide
This guide describes the out-of-the-box Report Definition Language Client-side (RDLC) reports that can be generated in Tenrox, as well as provides a list of the Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) reports that can also be generated as long as the required OLAP licenses exist. The reports described in this guide are supported in the following Tenrox releases: Tenrox 2016 R1 and Tenrox 2015 R2

Note:
- As of 2019 R1, the OLAP reporting capabilities are no longer available.
- The AdHoc Reporting solution will be phased out in an upcoming release.
It is strongly recommended to use the new Upland Analytics reporting capability going forward. With Upland Analytics you can create insightful dashboards and data visualizations that allow the discovery of hidden insights in your data easily. Version Note: Available as of Tenrox 2013 R1
- AdHoc UDF Reporting allows the automatic addition of User Defined Fields to the Ad Hoc Reporting views
- Exclusion of Suspended Projects allows users to filter out/not, suspended Projects when running the Project Revenue Summary report.
- Blank Date Parameter allows the date parameter/filter to be left blank on designing an Ad Hoc report, thereby forcing the selection of a date parameter as no pre-set will be provided.
- Download Report File allows the downloading of the RDLC from the Design page.
- Filtering with the IN operator and Special Characters facilitates the use of the IN operator when any of the multiple Filter Parameters contain either single or double quotes, thereby allowing the filtering of AdHoc Reports with such special characters.
- Viewing, Printing and Zooming Capabilities Based on Browser provides a reference to view how the various browsers support the ReportViewer features.
Available as of Tenrox 2011 R2:
- Previous versions of the reports are not overridden when existing RDLC files are uploaded to Tenrox as was the case in earlier releases

Tenrox Reports Guide
This guide describes the out-of-box reports included in the Tenrox application, starting from Tenrox 2011 R1 and later. From the menu bar, click Reports to display a list of all the existing reports. To generate a report, set the parameters for the selected report and then click the Preview link to view the report.
After a report is generated, it can be exported to another format, such as Excel, PDF or Word, as well as printed. The set of parameters that are displayed for each report can be either displayed or hidden by clicking the Show Parameters or Hide Parameters link respectively.
The reports are classified by category under the following tabs:
- Reports: displays all reports currently available in the system, excluding the application reports
- Application: displays all application reports in the system; logged users require Modify rights to the Application Reports component in their security profiles to view the Application tab
Reports Tab
The Reports tab displays all the reports currently available in the system with the exception of the application reports. From the Reports tab, the following folders containing the out-of-box RDLC reports are displayed:
- Budget Folder
- Charge Folder
- Cost Folder
- Cost and Revenue Folder
- Expense Folder
- Financial Folder
- Invoice Folder
- List Reports Folder
- Overtime Folder
- Portfolio Folder
- Project Folder
- Project Management Folder
- Purchase Order Folder
- Resource Management Folder
- Revenue Folder

Application Tab
The Application tab displays all application reports in the system. From the Application tab, the following folders containing the out-of-box RDLC reports are displayed:
- Expense Folder
- Expense Payable Batch Folder
- Group Scheduling Folder
- Invoice Folder
- Project Scheduling Folder
- Purchase Order Folder
- Purchase Payable Batch Folder
- Requisition Order Folder
- Timesheet Folder
- Work Process Folder

Note: There are no out-of-box reports for the Assignment Budget, Invoice Batch Manager, Payroll Batch, Project Budget, Task Budget and User Work Plan folders; therefore, the folders are not available until a report is added to the folders. After a report is added, the folders are accessible. For information on creating reports, see the Tenrox online help.
Creating Custom RDLC Reports in Tenrox

Designing RDLC Reports in Visual Studio
This procedure describes how to design the RDLC reports in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. The design of the RDLC reports consists of the following steps:
- Creating Report Applications
- Setting up the Connection to the Tenrox Database
- Linking Reports to Stored Procedures Using Dataset Objects
- Designing and Formatting the RDLC Reports
- Defining the Stored Procedure Parameters in the Reports

AdHoc Reporting
