About Outlook Local Profiles
A local profile is a way of distributing a set of messaging options to users. Local profile options are stored in Outlook on the users' local systems, rather than in Exchange public folders, as with public folder profiles. In a local profile, you can provide lists of choices for cover pages, billing codes, and access codes, as well as defaults for each option. You can set other defaults for the form, such as whether the form defaults to always include a cover page, billing code, or access code. Additionally, you can configure the form with the URL for your company'Upland AccuRouteWeb Client for delivery status and fax preview.
If you're using the Upland AccuRoute forms for Outlook in conjunction with local profiles, you can distribute the forms to Outlook users and then allow Outlook users to manage their own profiles.
The first time a user opens the Upland AccuRouteSend Form, a folder called Upland AccuRoute Profiles with a subfolder called Fax Profile is created in the user’s Outlook folder list. The Profile tab on the Upland AccuRouteSend Form provides the tool for creating local profiles. When the profile is saved, the options are stored in a message in the Fax Profile folder. You can create local profiles and send the message item to users with instructions on how to copy it into the Fax Profile folder, or you can email lists of options to users and they can create the profile for themselves. Instructions on creating local profiles are provided in this help file as well as in the AccuRoute Send Form Help file.
Note: If the AccuRoute Profiles folder or the Fax Profile folder are ever deleted from Outlook, they are automatically re-created the next time the user sends a message using the AccuRoute Send Form, although all the options previously stored in the profile are lost.
You can use local profiles instead of or in combination with the Server, Connector, and User profiles to customize the distribution of messaging options to users. For example, you could create and send out local profiles to users so they have lists of fax options, and then use the Server, Connector, and User profiles to set messaging options such as additional recipients and permission to request fax previews.
