About Server Administrator

Server Administrator lets you manage your company’s Upland AccuRoute servers, including connectors, components, devices, user permissions and more. You can use the Server Administrator to work with routing rules and view messages on the server either in process or in history.

Before you begin

The Server Administrator is part of the default server installation. The Microsoft Management Console (MMC) known as a snap-in is used to provide administrators and advanced users with an interface for configuring and monitoring the server(s). Anything related to the administration of the server(s) is done through the MMC console referred to as the Server Administrator Console.

Access the Server Administrator Console

On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

Tip: You can also use the Server Administrator Console icon pinned to the Taskbar.

The Server Administrator Console contains the following elements.

  • Menu bar
  • Toolbar
  • Console Root pane which includes the Server Administrator tree and nodes
  • Details and Actions pane

Description
  1. Menu bar

Use the Menu bar for additional console functionality.

  • On the Menu bar, click Help for more information.
  1. Toolbar

Use the Toolbar to:

  • Back/Forward arrows - move back or forward on the Server Administrator tree.
  • Folder icon - move up one level on the tree.
  • Console with left arrow icon - show or hide the tree.
  • Help icon - access the Help Center.
  • Console with right arrow icon - show or hide the Actions pane.
  1. Console Root pane

Use the Console Root pane to:

  • View and access the tree and its nodes (folders).
  • Right-click any node to access its short-cut menu.
  • Double-click any node to access the Details pane.
  1. Details pane

Use the Details pane to:

  • View node details.
  • Right-click any node detail to access its short-cut menu.
  • Double-click any node detail to access its appropriate dialog box.

Note: The following message appears: There are no items to show in this view when the Details pane is blank.

  1. Actions pane

Use the Actions pane (Optional) to:

  • Access the More Actions short-cut menu based on a selected node.
  • Create New; for example, connectors.
  • View or change the appearance of the Details pane items and more.

Remote Administrator

You can also install the Server Administrator on a remote system if you want to manage your servers from a remote location. When you install the Server Administrator on a remote system, it is called a Remote Administrator. For more information about the installation process, see the Server Installation and Integration Guide.

Additional Features and Functionality Require Licensing

Additional features of the Server Administrator such as components, connectors, and other types of functionality require licensing. Administrative options for these components, connectors, and other functions are available to you if your company purchased the applicable license.
