Data Viewer

The data viewer is accessed by pressing the browse tab on a table or list and allows you to:

By default, the data viewer displays the contact email addresses and the Adestra contact ID numbers.

To display additional core table or data table fields in the data viewer:

  1. Press the select fields button.

  2. Select the fields to display from the relevant core table and/or available data tables.

    Note: if a field is protected, it will be visible only for admin users to select and view.
  3. Press the okay button. The selected fields will be displayed.

Search for a contact

To search for particular email addresses in your current data selection:

  1. Select the search email box.

  2. Enter an email address.

  3. Press the magnifying glass to display results.

Filter contacts

To apply a filter to your current data selection:

  1. Press the filter contacts button. The page will expand to display the filter section.

  2. Select criteria to refine which contacts are displayed.

  3. Press the apply filter button to see your filtered contacts.

Tip: to use a saved filter, press the 'Load Filter' button and select from the available filters.

Example use case: you wish to create a new list based on location.

  1. Set filter rules to segment the data in your core table by location.

  2. Apply your filter.

  3. Select your filtered contacts.

  4. Expand the ADD dropdown menu and select the add to new list option.

  5. Enter a name for the new list and press the okay button to save.

Edit contacts (action menu)

Selecting an address or ID will take you to the Contact Profile screen. Here you can see and manage the individual contact information.

Perform actions on multiple contacts by:

  1. Selecting the checkbox next to a contact.

    The action menu will appear when one or more contacts are selected.

  2. Using the dropdown menus to select an action.

  3. Defining the action, e.g. selecting the existing list to which you want to add contacts.

    How you define the action is determined by the action as listed below.

  4. Pressing the okay button.

Note: the checkbox in the field header will apply to all records on all pages of the current selection, not just the records you can see checked.

Available data viewer actions

The actions available in the data viewer action menu are:

Add to New List

Selected contacts will be added to a new list.

Enter the name for your list and press the okay button.

Add to Existing List

Selected contacts will be added to an existing list.

Select from the available lists and press the okay button.

Note: to add data to an existing list, the two lists must share the same core table.

Add to Unsub List

Selected contacts will be added to an existing Unsub List.

Select from the available lists and press the okay button.

Add to program

Selected contacts will be added to an existing automation program.

Select from the available programs and press the okay button.

Add to persona

Selected contacts will be added to an existing persona.

Select an available persona group from the tabs.

Select a persona for the selected contacts and press the okay button.

Remove from List

All selected contacts that appear in the selected list will be removed.

Select from the available lists and press the okay button.

Remove from Unsub List

All contacts appearing in the selected Unsub List will be removed.

Select from the available lists and press the okay button.

Remove from persona

All contacts appearing in the selected persona group will be removed.

Select from the available persona groups and press the okay button.

Note: as an individual can only be in one persona per group, selecting the group ensures you target whichever persona the individual is in.

Manage consent

Selected contacts will be added to an existing consent purpose.

Select from the available consent purposes and press the okay button.

Downloading data

If you have data admin rights you can download a list's data by pressing the download button at the bottom of the data viewer.

Note: this button is only visible if you have Data Admin rights.
