Unsub Lists

Recipients that unsubscribe from a campaign are added to that campaign's unsub list and will not be sent further mailings from that campaign, i.e. they will be automatically suppressed.

Regular unsub lists are used to manage email unsubscribes. Add an unsub list to a campaign from the options step of the workflow.

SMS unsub lists are used to manage SMS opt outs. Add an SMS unsub list to your SMS Identities.

Note: in some cases, the contacts on the unsub list can be reinstated if a list is re-imported. To avoid this, you should associate the unsubscribe list with a mailing list.

Associating unsubs with a mailing list

Note: you can only associate an unsub list with a regular list. This option is not available for dynamic or remote lists and it is not available in the API.

To associate an unsub list with a regular list:

  1. Open the regular list.

  2. From the Overview tab, select 'Settings'.

  3. Select the unsub list from the drop-down list.

    Tip: if you do not see the unsub list in the drop-down list, check it is not part of a different workspace.

Change or remove an associated unsub list

To change an unsub list associated with a regular list:

  1. Open the regular list.

  2. From the Overview tab, select 'Settings'.

  3. Select a new unsub list from the drop-down list of available unsub lists.

To remove an unsub list:

  1. Select 'Data' and then select 'Unsubscribe Lists'.

  2. Select the unsub list to remove.

    If the unsub list is associated with a regular list, you must first unlink it from the list.

  3. Click 'Delete Unsubscribe list'.

Add an unsub list to a campaign

You can also add an unsub list to a campaign with an existing unsub link.

  1. Open a campaign with a regular list containing an unsub list or add a list with an associated unsub list.

  2. Click the unsub link and select an unsub list from the drop-down list.

    When you launch the campaign, contacts from both unsub lists associated with it will be repressed.
