The Process Advanced UDFs Automation Service (Setup > Organization) is disabled by default. You can enable it to process the Advanced User Defined Fields associated to Projects or Project Status Templates.
When enabled, the service is by default set to run every 1 minute. It checks for any Advanced User Defined Fields associated to Projects or Project Status Templates and updates their values based on their individual settings.
Note: To create the formula in an Advanced User Defined Field, contact your PSA Project Manager or Customer Success Manager to discuss your needs further.
Example 1:
An Advanced User Defined Field associated to Project A is set to be updated every 1 hour.
Upon enabling the Process Advanced UDFs Automation Service, the service will run every minute verifying the set schedule at the UDF level and will update it's value every 60 minutes for Project A only.
Example 2:
An Advanced User Defined Field associated to Projects A, B and C is set to be updated every 5 minutes.
Upon enabling the Process Advanced UDFs Automation Service, the service will run every 1 minute verifying the set schedule at the UDF level and updates the values for Project A, B and C every 5 minutes.
Note: If the schedule for the Process Advanced UDFs Automation Service is modified, the associated Advanced UDF values will be updated only the next time the Process is run according to the schedule set at the User Defined Field level.
