Skill Interest Options

The Skill Interest options can be configured via the System Table edit page.

This article explains how to customize and configure Skill Interest options through the System Table edit page to meet your organization’s specific requirements.

Example: Adam is tasked with setting up the Skill Interest options so that Resource Managers can choose a new Skill Interest called Open to Discussion. He can now easily complete this request by creating the required Skill Interest by navigating to the System Table Edit: Skill interest page (Setup > Organization > System > System Tables > Skill interest).

Note: Any changes performed in this section do not take effect until the application is exited and/or restarted.

  1. From the Icon Bar click Setup .
  2. From the Navigation Menu click Organization.
  3. From the menu click System.
  4. From the Organization System page, click the System Tables link.
  5. On the System Tables list, click Skill interest.
  6. Editing or adding Skill Interest(s):

    1. Edit existing Skill Interest

      1. Click Edit to enable inline editing.
      2. Enter the name of the option in the Key box.
      3. Change the description in the Description box.
      4. Update the sort number in the Sort box.
      5. Click Save to save your changes.

      Tip: To switch between English and French names, click the down arrow located beside English or French.

    2. Add new Skill Interest

      1. Click New to enable inline editing. Note that a new line item will be added to the top of the list.
      2. Enter the name of the new option in the Key box.
      3. Add a brief description in the Description box.
      4. Enter a sort number in the Sort box.
      5. Click Save to add the new option to the list box.
  7. Click Back to return to the System Setup page.
  8. View your changes:
    1. Users can modify their own interests providing them with a personalized and tailored experience. They can align their professional pursuits with their passions and aspirations. This self-management capability ensures that their career journey is driven by genuine enthusiasm, fostering a sense of fulfillment and motivation in their skill development and goal-setting endeavors.
    2. Managers have the advantage of determining and tracking a user's level of interest, allowing them to tailor career goals based on their skill development.
