Document type sections and components

Document types start with Document Sections that help you design the document in a logical order. At least one Document Section will always be applied to each document type in Upland Qvidian, but multiple sections may be used. Components are added beneath the Document Section by either selecting the component from the Toolkit, or by copying and pasting a component from within the same document type, or using the selection tray to drag and drop a component from another document type.

After you have added and configured the component, you can run a test build, by clicking Test Build from the top of the workspace, to verify the component is configured correctly. You can delete any existing test builds associated with the document type and start again with a fresh test document by clicking Reset Test Build.

Note: It is recommended that you create a blueprint which outlines the components you will add to each section and options within those components before you create a document type.

For more information on configuring a specific component, click the component link below. Components are available for document types as noted below. Those with a D are available for document types, those marked with a P are available for presentation document types

To delete a component or sections, see Delete a component or section in a document type.

To copy an existing component and paste it into a document type, see Copy a component or section.
