About Components
A component is a part of the
All components are managed by a Windows service called the Component Manager that manages the flow of messages through the components and processing steps of a message. Except for the Compose component, you do not need a special license to run these components. Also, you cannot delete components from the server.
Note: The server may use all or only some components based on your configuration.
The following table describes each component installed with the server.

The Barcode extractor allows the server to read and process barcoded cover sheets (or separator pages) generated by the CA Records Manager web client. |

The Document Collection Key property acts as a locator key to help the Data Extractor component identify and route documents to the correct Document Collection. |

Converts messages and documents into the appropriate format for delivery. |

Allows the server to read and process barcodes and identify values in scanned document pages. |

Holds outbound messages in the sending queue until they can be delivered by the appropriate connector or delivery mechanism. |

Determines the appropriate delivery method for all messages—inbound and outbound. |
|
Detects, decodes, and applies Embedded Directives. |
|
Holds inbound faxes that reside in FaxCenter until a FaxCenter user routes them to the appropriate recipients. |
|
Looks up a DID or DTMF number and finds the appropriate recipient for an inbound fax. |
|
Performs archiving and cleanup functions on the server. |
|
Generates and sends notification messages from the server to the email accounts of message senders and recipients when important events occur during the processing of a message. | |
Determines whether a message needs to be previewed before the server continues processing it for delivery. |

Determines whether the recipient of a secure fax has registered with the server. | |
Holds a fax until the recipient registers with the server as a secure fax destination. | |
