About Components

A component is a part of the Upland AccuRoute Server that performs a specific function. For example, the Dispatch component determines the appropriate delivery method for inbound and outbound messages on the server. Other components perform functions such as composing a message into a format appropriate for the delivery method, modifying a fax number, or determining whether a message requires previewing before processing.

All components are managed by a Windows service called the Component Manager that manages the flow of messages through the components and processing steps of a message. Except for the Compose component, you do not need a special license to run these components. Also, you cannot delete components from the server.

Note: The server may use all or only some components based on your configuration.

The following table describes each component installed with the server.
