Associate Billing Rule(s) with Project Dependencies to Users

This article details how to associate multiple Project defendant Billing rates with Billing Rules withing a specific time period to a User .

Note: Billing rules must first be created before associating them to the users.

  1. From the Icon Bar click Setup .
  2. From the Navigation Menu click Organization.
  3. From the available options select Users.
  4. Upon the Users list page displaying, click the name of the User you wish to edit, to access the User Edit page.

    Tip: You may wish to narrow your Users list so that you retrieve just the right amount of information you need. To do so you can perform a search. Select a search criterion from the list of available search criteria and then enter a corresponding value in the Search box. Click the Search icon to narrow down the Users list.   5. Upon the User Edit page displaying, expand the Financial menu item.
  6. From the available options, click Billing.
  7. Click New.
  8. From the Associated Billing Rule Edit page, click the Billing Rule ellipsis.
  9. From the Billing Rule List page, select the applicable rule.
  10. Upon returning to the Associated Billing Rule Edit page, modify the effective period of the rule by selecting a different Start Date and End Date through the Calendar .

    Note: The association of the User to the Billing Rule is effective, by default, as of the Start Date of the selected Billing Rule.

  11. Select the Depends on selection box.
  12. Click the ellipsis button located against the Project then choose the applicable Project from the Project List dialog box.

  13. Repeat steps 7 to 12 and choose a different Rate and Start/End Dates. However, maintain the same Project as illustrated in the screenshot below.

  14. Upon the Associated Billing Rules page displaying, view the newly associated Rules. There are now two Rates associated to the User for a Project based on the Time Entry date.
