Set Up a Master Timesheet Template for Rule Inheritance

Setting up a parent or master timesheet template allows organizations to efficiently manage multiple timesheet templates that share similar configurations. By creating a master template with core rules and settings, other templates can inherit these rules automatically, ensuring consistency and reducing the need for repetitive updates across templates. This approach simplifies administration and improves accuracy by centralizing control of common policies, while still allowing flexibility for individual templates to customize specific rules as needed.

This feature is especially valuable for organizations with diverse departments or teams that require similar time tracking standards but also need some tailored adjustments. For example, a company might mandate billable time entry rules across the entire organization through the master template, while letting each department customize their minimum weekly hour requirements. When updates are made to the master template, all inheriting templates receive those changes automatically, saving time and minimizing errors. This streamlined rule inheritance enhances policy enforcement and ensures timesheet compliance at scale.
