Administrators
Administrators are responsible for managing their company's Qvidian instance including managing users and user permissions, global settings, email notifications, news and announcements, branding, the default Qvidian Home page, application integrations, and SSO.
Qvidian is designed to allow companies to control almost everything themselves, from adding and reinitializing users to setting timeouts. Because administrators have so much control over their company's Qvidian's instance, it's important to use caution when assigning administrators and working with administrative functions.
If you have multiple administrators, we recommend you communicate with each other prior to changing settings, since some settings can affect all users. For example, when a new custom metadata field is added, it is available on all library content.
You can assign an administrator without using a Qvidian license. This administrator will have access to administrative functions but will not be able to access other areas of the application. Some companies assign an IT team member as their Qvidian administrator, and then ask users to contact IT to make updates and manage users.
Caution: Always use caution when changing settings. If you are unsure of how a setting may affect your Qvidian instance, contact Support or your Customer Service Manager (CSM) for assistance.
