The Resource Request featureallows project managers to submit resource requests directly from the Work Plan. These requests are then processed through the standard Resource Request workflow, enabling resource managers to review and assign named resources efficiently. This article explains how to enable or disable this feature at the system level, helping organizations manage resourcing based on their operational needs.
This article details how to enable or disable the Resource Request feature to streamline project resourcing and manage workflows through the Work Plan interface.
Note:
- By default the Resource Request functionality is turned off.
- With this first release of the Resource Request feature, the Default Workflow option cannot be modified.
- From the Icon Bar click Setup
. - From the Navigation Menu click Workforce Planning to expand the corresponding menu.
- From the available menu items, click System.
- Select the Enable Resource Requests option to the Resource Request functionality on.
Tip: To turn the Resource Request functionality off, clear the Enable Resource Requests option.
- Click Save.
- View your changes
- Upon navigating to a Work Plan, note that the "Booking" button now reads New.
- You can request for a resource by simply clicking the New button from a Work Plan and then select Request.
- You can then enter/select the required information/options within the New Request dialog box. Then choose the appropriate Save option.
