Create an Assignment when Hard Booking a User

When the option Create an Assignment when Hard Booking a User turned on, upon Hard Booking a User against a Task, the Assignment is created automatically within the User’s Timesheet.

This article details how enabling the Create an Assignment when Hard Booking a User option automatically generates an assignment in the user’s Timesheet when they are Hard Booked to a Task. This feature streamlines timesheet management by linking bookings directly to assignments.

1. From the Icon Bar click Setup .
2. Click Workforce Planning.
3. Select System.
4. Select the Create an Assignment when Hard Booking a User option.

   

5. Click Save to apply your changes.

Impact of your changes

When the Create an Assignment when Hard Booking a User option is turned on, upon Hard Booking a User against a Task, the Assignment is created automatically within the User’s Timesheet.

Note that:

• The Project Planner Synchronize with Timesheet option must be turned off for the Project.
• The Booking is a Hard Booking for which a Task and allocation hours are defined.
• The selected Task is set to be Used by Time.
• User creating the Booking must have the Create right to Assign Users to Task (Setup > Work) permission in their Security Profile (Setup > Organization > System > Security).

1. Upon navigating to a Work Plan, create a Hard Booking wherein a Task and allocation hours are defined ensuring that all Prerequisites are met.
