Workflow Design and Setup

The following steps follow the evolution and design of a workflow:

  • Design and creation of Workflow
  • Begin Workflow Edit
  • Decide on stages of progress
  • Define Transitions: Actions that progress the Workflow from one State to another
  • Define Rules for the Transitions (optional)
  • Workflow must finally be associated with an Expense Report, Timesheet Template, Invoice or Project to be used

Workflow Edit page
PSA provides an interface for creating and modifying PSA workflows. Using a simple drag-and-drop method, you can choose from different shapes for States, grab the shapes from the Tool Bar, and place them on the design area. You can also view and edit any existing Workflow.

Creating workflows for all types of work is done in the same way, depending on which type of workflow you are creating. Here is a list of all Workflow Types and how to access them in PSA:

  • Expense workflows, click Setup > Expense > Workflows
  • Invoice workflows, click Setup > Financial > Workflows
  • Leave Request workflows, click Setup > Timesheet > Leave Request Workflows
  • Project workflows, click Setup > Work > Project Workflows
  • Resource Request workflow, click Setup > Workforce Planning > Resource Request Workflows
  • Timesheet workflows, click Setup > Timesheet > Timesheet Workflows
  • Work Item workflows, click Setup > Work > Work Item Workflows

Click a workflow from the list that appears, to access the Workflow Edit page.
