Qvidian for Office Enhancements

Assignments in Qvidian for Office

Users can now create assignments in Microsoft Word and Excel files that aren't housed in a Qvidian Project. This allows teams to benefit from assignments by tracking progress, collaborating, and communicating more effectively in Qvidian for Office.

Example: Users store their RFPs and other files on SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, or Box to allow co-authoring and team editing in locally installed Office. Now, these users can create assignments using Qvidian for Office in those files.

Note: To create assignments in local Microsoft Word and Excel files, the following permissions must be enabled: "Allow user to create assignments in Microsoft Word/Excel files outside of Qvidian" and "Create new Projects". Once an assignment is created in a local Word or Excel file, a Project ID and RFP File ID links the file to a new project, allowing the file to function as a standard unsliced RFP where revisions can be uploaded. New email triggers will notify users of their assignments and audit events will be logged.

Project Enhancements

Project Name in the Browser Tab

As of the April 2026 release, the name of the current open project will be displayed in the browser tab. This provides better context for users who may have multiple Qvidian browser windows open, allowing them to find their projects more easily.

Example: When a user opens their "ABC Company" project, the browser tab will display "Qvidian - ABC Company".

Option to Prevent Build When Merge Codes are Incomplete

Administrators now have the option to prevent a project from being built if any of the optional merge codes found on the Customization tab of the Build Package page are incomplete. This saves users time by eliminating the need to manually scan documents for any gaps left by merge codes without values.

Note: To prevent a project from being built if any optional merge codes are incomplete, set the ProjectBuildButtonMode Global Setting to a Value of "3".

AI Assist Enhancements

Increased Length for Saved Prompts

Users will now be able to save prompts up to 8000 characters. If the text is over the limit, the "Add" button will be disabled and a hover text explanation will appear.

Additional Azure OpenAI LLM Options

The following Azure OpenAI LLM options have been added: GPT 5.4 mini and GPT 5.4 nano.
