August 2026

Version 20.1.3000.0034

System Enhancements

Time Limit Maximums

The Timeouts Administration page will now enforce reasonable limits on user-entered values. Each timeout setting will display the minimum and maximum values that can be entered.

Note: Existing values will not be changed. If a value is edited and is outside the new min/max limit, then the system will disable the "Save" button until a value within the allowed range is entered.

Copy Permission Text

Users now have the ability to copy User and Role permission description text.

Note: To copy the permission description, navigate to the Permissions tab of User and/or Role Properties page, hover over the desired permission and click the Copy Permission Description Copy Permission Description icon icon to copy the text to your clipboard.

Qvidian for Office Enhancements

Upland Assist in Qvidian for Office & Web

Upland Assist is now available within Qvidian for Office and Web. This allows users to access the Help Center and Community directly from their Qvidian for Office or Web session.

Note: To open the Upland Assist dialog within a Qvidian for Office or Web session: click the Menu Menu icon icon and select Help from the dropdown menu. Upland Assist will display as a dialog.

Library Enhancements

Semantic Search: Early Access Release Period

Semantic Search capabilities, which are now available in the library for our early access trial period, enable teams to find the right answers faster and with greater accuracy by interpreting the meaning of the search text and the content.

Example: When a user searches for "data encryption security", semantic search results flag "information protection standards" as a contextual match. Relevant answers are found without requiring users to enter exact terms.

Indexed vs Semantic Search
Indexed Search Semantic Search
Keyword searches return too many irrelevant results Interprets natural language queries
Users must refine queries repeatedly Matches based on meaning—not exact wording
Time lost digging through content instead of responding Surfaces best-fit answers instantly
Increased reliance on SMEs for basic content retrieval Enables side-by-side fallback to legacy keyword search
Results depend on how content was written, not what is needed Delivered through a phased, controlled roll-out approach

Note: To beta test Semantic Search in the library, contact your CSM to enable it in your environment. Once enabled, click the More Options More Options\ menu to the right of the library Search bar and select Search Settings. On the "Search Settings" dialog below Type of Search, select the Semantic radio button. During the Early Access period, this selection is NOT saved between sessions or workspace. Whenever a new library session is initiated, the Semantic radio button must be reselected.

Caution: Semantic search currently does not support inflectional terms, Boolean searching (AND/OR/NOT), ANY/ALL/EXACT phrase searching, default search behavior choices, or the removal of "noise words".
